Grade School Association

Our mission as a Grade School Association (GSA) at St. Peter School is to provide support to our educators and encourage the connection between the families and our school.  The GSA also sponsors and organizes school events, which deepen our community spirit and enrich our children’s social and developmental experiences at St. Peter School.


What do we do?

GSA not only has a volunteer network that supports Head Room Parents and Room helpers, Scholastic Book Fair, Kindergarten Round-Up and lunch room volunteers, but also sponsors and organizes many events year round to support our students and staff at St. Peter School.

Our events include 3 lunches for faculty and staff throughout the year, the Father/Daughter dance, Pancake & Sausage breakfast, and the School Picnic to end the year.

2018-2019 GSA Meeting Schedule:

All meetings will be held at 10:00am in the conference room in the library. Anyone is welcome to attend the meeting!

Grade School Association Yearly Events  


Online Enrollment- Parent Volunteers- Parents will fill out volunteer information on Renweb when they enroll their child(ren) at St. Peter.  Lists of these parent volunteers will be distributed to the appropriate coordinator to help plan for the year.

School Supply Pick Up– Scheduled before school begins. Communication to parents sent out prior to pick up date.

Back to School Teacher Lunch- GSA members plan, set up, work, and clean up at the teacher luncheon provided before school starts.


Fall Scholastic Book Fair– GSA supports this event with volunteers to work, including the chairperson.


Parent/Teacher Conference Fiesta Luncheon– GSA plans this lunch for the ½ day of school before the teachers have conferences.


Staff Christmas Brunch– GSA sends out a sign up to help cover classrooms so staff can enjoy brunch sponsored by the school office.


Pancake Breakfast– GSA sponsors this event to kickoff Catholic Schools week. We bring “Chris Cakes” in from St. Louis to provide breakfast and entertainment during this fun event.  The chairperson is on the GSA board and we support this event with volunteers.

Catholic Schools Week– We support the ice cream social and supply popcorn and water for our movie day during Catholic Schools Week. In January 2018, we just did popcorn and flavored water.  The week is scheduled for January 27-February 1.

Father/Daughter Dance– GSA provides a chairperson, volunteers, and supplies to host a dance for girls and their dads in January or February.


Kindergarten Easter Egg Hunt– GSA supplies the candy for the 8th grade parents and students to host and egg hunt for all kindergarteners.

Kindergarten Round Up– GSA helps support this event by getting volunteers.  This is usually sometime in March on a Friday.

Spring Scholastic Book Fair- GSA supports this event with volunteers to work, including the chairperson.


Teacher Appreciation Week– GSA provides something special for the teachers, including a teacher luncheon where all staff can eat lunch at the same time. Recess and lunch duties are covered by volunteers.


End of the year School Picnic- GSA provides a chairperson to organize and plan the end of the year school picnic. We provide supplies, food and volunteers for this event.
